HOW DO I APPLY MY DECAL?

 Handy tools:

Cleaner and cloth.

Squeegee or credit card.

Tape measure or ruler.

Pencil.

Scissors or craft knife.

Masking tape.

Follow these steps:

Remove your decal from the packaging and lay it on a flat surface so that it can flatten out. You may want to weigh it down a little so that it uncurls and is easier to work with.

Ensure that the surface to which it will be applied is free of any dirt or dust. If washing, allow to dry completely before attempting to apply your decal. (Remember, decals work best on dry, smooth, clean surfaces. We do not recommend using decals on rough, textured, bumpy or newly painted surfaces. We recommend that you wait between 3-4 weeks after painting your surface before applying your decal otherwise it may not adhere properly or damage the painted surface when removed.)

Using your tape measure and pencil, mark out where you plan to position your decal. Make sure that you measure correctly as once you have positioned the decal, you will not be able to reposition it.

Place your decal on a solid surface, face up so that your sticker is facing you. Using a squeegee or credit card, rub over the entire surface to make sure that the decal is properly transferred. Make sure to get into all the corners, especially if your decal has been stored for a while.

If your decal is made up of different parts, it may be a good idea to snip them out now. This allows for a less cumbersome application.

 a) Using your masking tape, position the decal facing you within your pencil marks. We suggest using a hinge method, especially with larger decals. Using another, longer strip of masking tape, tape the decal to the wall down its centre.

b)Peel the transfer paper and decal to the centre where the tape is holding the decal in place. Using your scissors or a craft knife, cut off the backing paper to the centre point. (Be careful not to damage your walls. A second pair of hands may be useful here too!) Discard the backing paper.

Working from the centre to the edges now, use your squeegee or credit card at a 45 degree angle to smooth out and apply the decal to the surface. Work slowly to ensure that you do not create air bubbles.

Remove the masking tape from the centre of your decal. One half of your decal should now be in place. You can go ahead and remove the other half of the backing paper. Discard.

c)Working from the centre to the edges once more, use your squeegee or credit card at a 45 degree angle to smooth out and apply the rest of the decal to the surface. Work slowly to ensure that you do not create air bubbles.

You have successfully applied your decal!

Although we doubt that you need this little bit of advice, we have included it:

Should you wish to remove your decal, simply peel it off. Heating it with a hairdryer helps to release it.

HOW DO I APPLY MY VINTAGE FLORAL COLLAGE?

 Handy tools:

Cleaner and cloth.

Squeegee or credit card.

Tape measure or ruler.

Pencil.

Scissors or craft knife.

Masking tape.

Follow these steps:

Remove your decal from the packaging and lay it on a flat surface so that it can flatten out. You may want to weigh it down a little so that it uncurls and is easier to work with.

Your floral decal is made up of individual blooms and leaf clusters, it is a good idea to snip them out now. This allows for a less cumbersome application as well as freedom when designing your wall.

Sort through your flowers. Using your masking tape, position the decals (facing you) within your pencil marks. Using the tape to tack your decals to the wall before peeling the adhesive back ensures that your design is exactly where you want it. Remember, you will not be able to reposition your decal, once it is stuck in place.

The sky is the limit when applying your blooms. Think of yourself as a florist! Applying the blooms and leaves in a cascade, cluster or spaced manner means that you will have a unique installation that reflects your individual flair. Overlapping the blooms and leaves also creates a stunning visual effect. See floral collage suggestions below.

We suggest using a hinge method when applying your decals, especially with larger ones (see diagram below).

a)Using another, longer strip of masking tape, tape the decal to the wall down its centre.

b)Peel the transfer paper and decal to the centre where the tape is holding the decal in place. Use your scissors or a craft knife to cut off the backing paper to the centre point.

(Be careful not to damage your walls. A second pair of hands may be useful here too!) Discard the backing paper.

c)Working from the centre to the edges now, use your squeegee or credit card at a 45 degree angle to smooth out and apply the decal to the surface. Work slowly to ensure that you do not create air bubbles.

Remove the masking tape from the centre of your decal. One half of your decal should now be in place. You can go ahead and remove the other half of the backing paper. Discard.

Working from the centre to the edges once more, use your squeegee or credit card at a 45 degree angle to smooth out and apply the rest of the decal to the surface. Work slowly to ensure that you do not create air bubbles.

You are almost there!

Peel away the transfer paper slowly and carefully from the corner at a pointed angle. Ensure that the entire image is sticking. If some parts are not, replace the transfer paper and apply more pressure to transfer the image.

Repeat these steps for each individual bloom or leaf cluster until your floral masterpiece is complete.

You may want to cover your squeegee or credit card with a soft cloth and rub the entire surface of the decal to ensure that it is well adhered.

You have successfully applied your decal!

Should you wish to remove your decal, simply peel it off. Heating it with a hairdryer helps to release it.
